About me
I was born in Iran, grew up in Vancouver, Canada, where I spent more than twenty years, and now call Los Angeles home. My cooking is shaped by a life across borders, with time spent in Dubai, Syria and Türkiye. It draws on memories of my mother’s kitchen, the generosity and traditions of Persian culture, and a lifelong curiosity about ingredients — what they can become, and how food brings people together.
I’m self-taught, and I cook the way I was raised to host. Every guest is part of the experience and is welcomed like family. Stories and deep conversations are encouraged, and every meal is made with love and meant to be shared.
PiazMiaz began during the pandemic as a personal project — an outlet for my creativity and my doorway into the world of cooking. It was a chance to rediscover the dishes I grew up with and reimagine them for today. What started in my home kitchen has grown into something bigger: a way to connect the world to the rich flavors of Iranian cuisine.
“For me, it’s never just a meal. It’s an experience your guests will remember long after the last cup of tea.”
I believe food is a universal language and a form of energy we share — a bridge between cultures. That energy lives in every detail of the experience, from the ingredients I source to the flavors on the plate and the memories that linger long after. At every table, my goal is simple: to create moments that bring people closer and fully present, one dish, one story and one gathering at a time.
